Envalior

Envalior supports customers with a comprehensive sustainable materials portfolio for a circular economy

At Envalior, we’re committed to providing our customers with sustainable solutions, offering a wide range of bio-based and recycled material alternatives across all our product lines by 2030. Today, we offer many sustainable material grades for most of our product lines. We’ve also joined the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) Association to strengthen our efforts in delivering trusted, sustainable solutions.

Envalior is paving the way for a more sustainable future by committing to offer our customers a full range of bio and recycled-based material alternatives across our product lines by 2030. With many current grades already meeting this criteria, our latest initiatives underscore our dedication to circularity in the engineering materials plastics industry. Plus, this is a key goal of our Sustainability Ambitions, which focuses on reducing our greenhouse gas emissions and extending our circular portfolio.

The new PBT product range, Pocan® X-MB, is based on bio-circular 1.4-butanediol (BDO). The raw material for the bio-circular BDO is used cooking oil. The proportion of sustainable material in the PBT base resin is 26% and is certified according to ISCC Plus (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification). It can be increased to over 70 percent if recycled glass fibers and PET from post-consumer recyclates are used in the compounds in addition to bio-circular BDO. The CO2 footprint of the new products is more than 30 percent lower than that of corresponding standard compounds.

Also, under the Pocan® ECO name, we have been selling ISCC PLUS-certified PBT compounds, which contain recycled glass fibers from industrial glass waste and in some cases in addition mechanically recycled post-consumer PET. Product examples are Pocan® ECOB3235 with 30% recycled glass fiber content by weight, Pocan® ECOT3230 with 30% recycled PET (PCR) by weight and 30% recycled glass fiber content by weight, and the halogen-free, flame-retardant PBT Pocan® ECOBFN4231, containing 25% recycled glass fiber by weight.

Other recycled-based, mechanical or feedstock recycling, grades include:

  • Akulon® RePurposed: A new life in PA6 for end-of-life fishing nets
  • Akulon® CRC-MB: PA6 from post-consumer plastic waste (pyrolysis)
  • Durethan® ECO: PA6/PA66 with post-industrial glass fiber
  • Pocan® ECO: PBT with post-industrial glass fiber
  • Pocan® ECOT: PBT/PET with post-industrial glass fiber and post-consumer PET
  • Arnite® MRC: Mechanical recycled PBT
  • Arnite® CRC: Recycled PET from post-consumer plastic waste (feedstock recycling)

Bio-based grades that are bio-C14 traceable include:

  • EcoPaXX®: PA410, based on castor oil
  • ForTii® ECO: PA4T partly based on castor oil
  • Arnitel® ECO: TPC partly based on rapeseed oil
  • Tepex® dynalite BLUE: 100% bio-based composites from polylactic acid or PA1010 and flax fabrics

Bio-mass balancing grades include:

  • EcoPaXX® B-MB: Castor oil and biomass waste mass balanced
  • Stanyl® B-MB: First high temperature polyamide from biomass waste mass balanced
  • Akulon® B-MB: Biomass waste mass balanced
  • Arnitel® B-MB: Biomass waste mass balanced
  • Durethan® BLUE: Combining PA6 from biomass or bio-waste with post-industrial glass fiber
  • Pocan® X-MB: PBT with post-industrial glass fiber and bio-circular 1.4-butanediol (BDO)

With this comprehensive portfolio of lower carbon footprint materials—including bio-based, recycled options, and “drop-in” alternatives that require no redesign—combined with tailored sustainability expertise and early co-development support, we can help you achieve your sustainability goals.

Advancing ISCC’s SUSTAINABILITY SOLUTIONS

Last year, Envalior became a member of the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) Association, an independent multi-stakeholder initiative and leading certification system supporting sustainable, fully traceable, deforestation-free and climate-friendly supply chains. By joining the ISCC Association, we are taking an active role in the advancement of sustainability solutions through credibility and certification in global value chains.

We are committed to ISCC and to make a positive impact through dialogue, innovation and cooperative action. As an ISCC Association Member, we are looking forward to contributing to the dynamic, multifaceted stakeholder dialogue to further enable ISCC’s high standards for sustainability certification.

We are dedicated to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and has assessed its business activities' impact on:

  • SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
  • SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
  • SDG 13: Climate Action
  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

We are especially committed to SDGs 12 “Responsible consumption and production” because it is highly relevant for the development of Envalior’s circular portfolio where bio- and recycled-based alternative material solutions accelerate the transformation of the portfolio.

We will keep developing circular solutions to help our customers achieve their sustainability goals, with many options already available  today.
