For India’s electric vehicle (EV) experts, there was only one place to be on Tuesday, November 21: the India EV Conclave in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Hosted by Autocar Professional magazine, the conference brought together experts from across the electric mobility ecosystem to discuss the future of this exciting field. One of those experts was our very own Nileshkumar Kukalyekar, Commercial Director for South Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
The event featured a series of presentations and discussions under the theme “Electrifying Tomorrow: Navigating the EV Transition”. Key topics included developments in battery technology, building the EV supply chain, overcoming regulatory challenges, and expanding the country’s charging infrastructure.
Kukalyekar was a key panelist in a discussion on the challenges facing the automotive industry as it transitions to electric mobility. “There are still many technological and policy hurdles that need to be overcome before the industry can truly flourish,” said Kukalyekar. “However, we are already seeing encouraging developments in both of these areas.”
Envalior is playing a key role in driving technological progress through our own innovations in high-performance materials. We are developing vital solutions that will help catalyze the transition to electric mobility, such as our new Tepex® thermoplastic composite, which can withstand extreme temperatures in EV operations. This makes it ideal for use in EV battery housings, ensuring a high level of safety for drivers and passengers.
“Driving safety is a key consideration as the production of electric vehicles gathers pace, and using the right materials for each component is critical,” explained Kukalyekar. “At Envalior, we work closely with our customers to develop solutions that offer a range of benefits in terms of weight, strength, and sustainability.”
India is now one of the world’s fastest-growing markets for EVs, and the event was a demonstration of the excitement and innovation fueling the country’s e-mobility boom. Driven by rising gas prices, and boosted by a $1.3 billion government program, this enthusiasm for going electric shows no signs of slowing down – and Envalior is ready with the solutions to kick it into high gear.
“The event was a great networking opportunity, and the discussions I had made me optimistic about the future of the industry,” said Kukalyekar. “By fostering dialogue and cooperation in this way, we can accelerate the transformation of the automotive industry and target a fully electric mobility future.”
