Explore Safe, Efficient and Lightweight Battery Solutions at the Envalior Booth

Get ready to see Envalior’s newest engineering material solutions for battery and electric vehicle applications at The Battery Show - North America taking place Oct. 7-10, 2024, at the Huntington Place in Detroit, MI.

Envalior will showcase innovative materials for lightweight electric vehicle (EV) battery housings,  an electrolyte additive that makes lithium-ion batteries safer by reducing the risk of thermal runaway,  fast-charging, high-voltage battery connectors, and much more.

Strong Yet Lightweight Battery Housings: To address the EV industry’s demands for lighter, stronger and safer products, Envalior developed the first fully functional high-voltage battery enclosure made entirely of engineered plastics. This innovative solution,  made from Durethan® B24CMH2.0 (PA6) and Tepex thermoplastic composite sheet technology, offers a lower weight, a lower cost and a lower carbon footprint compared to metal designs. You can see this battery enclosure on display at the Envalior booth (#1130).

Thermal Runaway Prevention with Stanyl® SN-Pure: Lithium-ion batteries (LiBs) are the preferred solution for battery-powered vehicles due to their higher output and energy density, but the electrolyte inside these battery cells is highly flammable. Envalior has addressed this problem with its SuccinoNitrile (SN) electrolyte additive. SN reduces harmful gas generation and protects the cathode, greatly reducing the risk of thermal runaway. Learn more at the Envalior booth.

Safe High-Voltage Connectors: Envalior offers high-voltage connectors with CTI 600 V, in accordance with IEC 60112, as well as materials with a higher tracking resistance of up to 900 V. These materials have been tested and shown to meet or exceed the latest UL and IEC standards for fire and electrical safety. Suggested grades include ForTii® T11, ForTii® TX1 and Akulon® SG-KGS6/HV.

Immersion Cooling with Dielectric Fluids:  Envalior will have a display demonstrating how tensile test bars, made from Tepex® composite materials, are resistant to immersion cooling fluids. By using Tepex for battery housings and other battery components such as cell housings, holders and partitions, immersion cooling fluids can be used without problem.
